The big three Cloud providers have created plenty of hype when it comes to Cloud. Why wouldn't they. The estimated half a Trillion dollar plus industry they've created in the last decade has also created FOMO. Why wouldn't you just ride the tide?
Don't be kidded into thinking that Cloud is right for every business right now though. Three recent companies we've been working with are dealing with the unenviable task of Cloud exits, suffering from a mix of bill shock from spiraling costs, performance issues, and a recognition their systems were not architected to get the best out of their Cloud migration.
You won't read this in any of the big Three's marketing obviously!
Go in eyes open!
Your business case will never stack up if you're migrating in and out of Cloud. Get independent un-biased support for your decision making, and remember to factor in the hefty price hike that might hit you at anytime, just because they can!
